Mar. 2nd, 2008 07:57 amcongrats to cute little red haired apprentice on winning baronial arts championship last night!
she got to compete in an awesome field, even. there were three other terrific entries (two of which were![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
loopyzany and glasseye. we are the barony of LJ, apparently!). I felt so proud that our championship fielded four entries that could have held their own in any contest I've judged in. go us!
got roped into judging bardic at the last minute and so got to see the charmingursule be victorious, doing some really cool poetry stuff. woot! again, the field was a good one, with the other competitor doing the more traditional folksy stuff (complete with guitar), which was very fun to listen to as well :)
tall gothy apprentice boy was at loose ends, since he couldnt judge the a/s stuff (both of us bowed out since cute little red haired apprentice was entering, and we thought it wouldnt be fair) but hung out and chatted pewter. we even had an equestrian guild display. none of the other guilds or groups in the barony participated, so it was AllPosse AllDay time ;). If I hear again how "you guys dont do anything for the barony", violence may occur....
the best part of the day was getting to hang with folks likecountess_e, fearga, cainder, mrq_laurellin and melusine. since I wasnt booked solid with judging like the others I got to hang and be social and mother hen it over the apprenti and the judges I invited. yay :).
after the potluck (again, potlucks in our barony dont suck! yay!) we adjourned to my place for tea and chocolate and discussion of cute little red haired apprentices comment sheets. some Baileys might have been consumed as well. oh darn.
oh, and the experimental food I mentioned a couple days ago? you can indeed do armored turnips in a crock pot. works great. not as nice as when you have crunchy cheese bits, but its still good :)
all in all, a good day for me and mine. yay :)
and now off to shower and to meet folks at a local brunch spot for the best eggs benedict in town, then dinner withdaedin for her birthday, woot!!!!!
